Packers Get Hot
The Greenbay Packers, led by first-year starter Jordan Love, beat the Dallas Cowboys in a game where they were 7.5-point underdogs. In a game where most analysts had the Cowboys winning by a favorable amount, Jordan Love put on a masterclass performance.
Jordan Love threw for 272- Yards and 3 -touchdowns in the team's 48-32 win on Saturday. Although having no true Wide Receiver 1 or Tight end 1, Love made unbelievable plays, putting his receivers in position to make plays. Jordan Love wasn’t the only Packer that showed with an incredible performance.
Romeo Doubs had 6-receptions for 151 Yards and 1-touchdown. That is the most receiving yards for a Packers Wide Receiver in a playoff game since Davante Adams in 2020. Doubs' performance is also ranked as the 3rd most receiving yards in a playoff game for a Packers Receiver since the franchise's first playoff game in 1936. Aaron Jones had himself a game as well. Jones rushed for 118 Yards and 3 touchdowns with 21 carries. Jones' performance ranks 4th in Packers playoff history for single-game rushing yards. Aaron Jones had an injury-riddled season, but it seems like he is in prime shape in these playoffs. Although the team is incredibly young, if Aaron can assert his dominance in the run game against the Niners, they could go farther than people think.
This weekend Jordan Love and the Packers are 9.5-point underdogs against the San Francisco 49ers. In recent history, the Niners have gotten the best out of the Packers when the lights are the brightest, but as this postseason has shown us, anything is possible. Believe it or not, this version of the Packers matches up well against the Niners. 1 of the weak spots in the
Niners' defense is their Cornerbacks. Besides Charvarius Ward they don’t have a good db. This
plays to the Packers' strength, getting the ball in their receivers' hands in space.
With Jordan Loves’ ability to turn nothing into something and create passing lanes by using different arm angles, they can catch them by surprise. Kyle Shanahan is 0-37 when trailing by 8+ points in the 4th Quarter. For some reason, Kyle can’t overcome a lead over 8+ and this could very much play into the Packers' hand. Niners’ quarterback Brock Purdy also sees a huge dropoff in play when trailing in the second half of games. The way to beat the Niners is by taking the lead early, making them play catch up. It affects their play calling and quarterback play. This weekend is setting up to be a classic. Do not sleep on the Green Bay Packers.
