The Cincinnati Reds Are on Fire

The Cincinnati Reds are on fire with a 12 game winning streak! Last night the Reds came back in a thrilling game to beat the Atlanta Braves 11-10, Joey Votto was clutch, and De La Cruz made history! Great American Ball Park was sold out (43,086 fans) and in a frenzy for one of the most exciting games played by the Reds this year. This team is different and is the most exciting team to watch in baseball!

Joey Votto and Elly De La Cruz joined forces to lead the Reds to their fifth straight come-from-behind win and Major League-leading 27 th this season. This win keeps the Reds on a 12-game winning streak which is the franchise longest since 1957 and in control of first place in the NL Central. This young team has been aggressively grinding this season out on a level we have not been used to seeing in baseball. It feels like they woke up the sleeping giant in Cincinnati! This team is fun, exciting and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Joey Votto, who is only four games back from returning from last season’s shoulder surgery,

belted two key homeruns and showed the crowd he was back with vengeance. Post-game interview Votto stated, “This is a really great experience for me. I don’t like getting ahead of ourselves, because it’s June. This has been fun so far. I think we’ve got really good potential. I think the average Reds fan at home has a team that they, their grandparents and kids can have a great time watching. Because it’s a fun brand of baseball.” Votto is a great leader for this young team and by how he has been playing these past four games proves he can still play with the young guys.

Last night, Elly De La Cruz hit for the cycle! He ended the longest drought in the Major Leagues

for a team without hitting for the cycle. The 21-year-old blast a double, home run, single and a triple in his first four at bats last night. In the sixth inning De La Cruz hit a drive into the right- center gap, motored around the bases reaching third base in a total of 10.83 seconds to complete the cycle. The last Red to hit for the cycle was also wearing the number 44 and that man was Red’s legend Eric Davis in 1989. De La Cruz was only in his 15 th career game to hit for the cycle which is the third fewest since 1900. Let that sink in. De La Cruz brings magic, aggressiveness, relentless speed, power and swagger to this game and it feels infectious to the players around him!

If you haven’t watched a Reds game this season just do yourself a favor and tune in! They are the best watch in baseball and are cooking up something special in Cincinnati! The Reds are on fire and hopefully the momentum will keep growing! They are America’s Team!
