The Week That Was | College Football Playoff Preview & Predictions | Michael Vick Becomes College Head Coach | NFL & NBA Seasons

The College Football Playoff starts on December 20th as history will be made as the 10th seeded Indiana Hoosiers at 7th seeded Notre Dame. Notre Dame offensively has a strong running game led by Quarterback Riley Leonard of Notre Dame including Running Backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. The Indiana Hoosiers run defense will be challenged.

However the Indiana Hoosiers run defense leads the nation in fewest rushing yards allowed giving up only 70.8 yards per game during the regular season. Keep eyes on these units that may decide the outcome of the game. Indiana vs Notre Dame hasn't played against each other since 1991 where Notre Dame won at home by score of 49-27. Also this will be the first time Notre Dame is hosting a football game at home on a Friday night plus since 1990 was the last time a Notre Dame home will not be televised on NBC instead it will be on ABC/ESPN. Overall Notre Dame should advance in the first round to the next round beating Indiana 28-21.

On Saturday there will be a triple header extravaganza where you will have 11th seeded SMU playing at 6th seeded Penn State,12th seeded Clemson vs 5th seeded Texas, and 9th seeded Tennessee Volunteers vs 8th seeded Ohio State. Keep eyes on the rushing attack of Penn State featuring running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton against the rushing defense of SMU. SMU Mustangs has won 10 straight road games. The weather will be a possible factor with the temperature in the mid 20s with a small chance of snow. Overall Penn State should win the ballgame convincingly by score of 31-21.

The Clemson vs Texas matchup which is the first ever matchup between these two teams where the winner of this game will play Arizona State in the next round. Keep eyes on the performances of opposing quarterbacks like Quarterback Quinn Ewers of Texas and Quarterback Cade Klubnik of Clemson. Overall Texas has too much talent for Clemson to handle. Texas will win overwhelmingly 35-17.

Finally, 9th seeded Tennessee vs 8th seeded Ohio State. The Ohio State Buckeyes will be eager to redeem themselves after their season finale lost to their archrival Michigan:13-10. Expect a big performance by Ohio State to bounce back in a major way. But Tennessee may have the talent to knock off the Buckeyes when you look at Running Back Dylan Sampson of Tennessee who ran for 1,485 yards and 22 touchdowns scored. Can the Buckeyes defense stop the vaunted rushing attack of Tennessee? Quarterback Will Howard of Ohio State threw 27 touchdown passes and his favorite target at Wide Receiver is Jeremiah Smith: 57,934,10. Can the Tennessee Volunteers defense stop the vaunted passing game between this dynamic duo? Overall, Ohio State Buckeyes should win to advance winning by score of 24-17.

Former NFL Quarterback Michael Vick is a head coach in college football as Norfolk State named him the new head coach. Interesting hire for Vick see how he adjust to the rigorous aspect of coaching in the college ranks only time will tell.

The NBA Cup finally ended this past week as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the NBA Cup by score of 97-81. Giannis Antetokounmpo has 26 points. Overall the NBA is in a crisis and a crossroads due to sagging ratings including the commissioner of the NBA Adam Silver made a decision to add interest to the All-Star Game. There will be a mini tournament featuring 4 teams in 3 games.

The NBA ratings are down 19 percent from last year across ABC, TNT and ESPN including NBA TV is down 25 percent in the NBA ratings as well. The NBA product is struggling maybe due the brand of basketball too many 3-point shot selections for example when the Dallas Mavericks played Golden State Warriors recently both teams shot a total of 95 three points shots. There were 48 made 3 pointers combined.

The NFL season is coming down to the wire as there were 2 big games last week featuring Bills/Lions and Steelers/Eagles. These 2 games may probably be a Super Bowl Preview. The Bills outclassed the Lions by score of 48-42 but the final score was misleading due to the fact that the Bills dominated on offense at will by having leads of 21-7,35-14,38-21,and 45-28. Quarterback Josh Allen of Buffalo Bills is clearly the frontrunner for MVP despite not having an elite wide receiver. Allen threw for 362 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Running Back James Cook of Buffalo Bills ran for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Detroit Lions are great offensively but the Lions defense are decimated with injuries. It will be a difficult task to win a Super Bowl outscoring teams.

The Philadelphia Eagles made a big statement against the Pittsburgh Steelers winning at home by score of 27-13. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had a big game in the passing game throwing for 290 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Wide Receiver AJ Brown of The Philadelphia Eagles who caught 8 passes for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. The Eagles defense held Quarterback Russell Wilson of The Pittsburgh Steelers to a season low 128 passing yards. The Philadelphia Eagles are red hot with a 10 game winning streak which is the longest in the NFL also a franchise record.

Offensive Player of The Week:

Quarterback Baker Mayfield of Tampa Bay Buccaneers

22-27 288 yards, 4 touchdown passes and 1 interception against the Los Angeles Chargers

Defensive Player of The Week:

Defensive Back Derek Stingley Jr of Houston Texans

2 interceptions,5 tackles,2 tackles for loss against the Miami Dolphins
