The Week That Was | College Football Week 3 & NFL Week 2 | Overview of College Football Week 4 & NFL Week 3

The Week That Was for College Football Week 3 was not filled with a whole bunch of upsets like the previous week so most of the top 25 teams were not upset. Georgia barely beat Kentucky on the road winning by score of 13-12 to preserve their regular season winning streak to 42 including a 28 consecutive win against SEC opponents which is a SEC record. Florida State is still winless at 0-3 after losing 20-12 at home to Memphis as Quarterback Seth Henigan who threw 2 touchdown passes which continued his streak with at least one touchdown pass in 40 straight games.

Meanwhile #6 Missouri won at home against #24 Boston College by score of 27-21. Missouri won a quality win against a ranked opponent. Quarterback Brady Cook of Missouri threw a touchdown pass including 264 yards completing 21-30. Running Back Nate Noel ran for 121 yards on 21 carries for Missouri. Moving forward into the overview of Week 4 where great games such as #24 Illinois vs #22 Nebraska,#12 Utah vs #14 Oklahoma State,#11 USC vs #18 Michigan, and #6 Tennessee vs #15 Oklahoma. A great slate of matchups for Week 4 of the College Football Season.

The Week That Was for the NFL Week 2 was very bizarre and strange filled with surprising results like the Giants losing at Washington by score of 21-18 where despite the Giants scoring 3 touchdowns and the defense not allowing an offensive touchdown and still lose becoming the 2nd team to have this on their resume of the franchise. The first team to do this was the Vikings beating the Rams by score of 23-21 in 1989. The 49ers lost their 8th consecutive game in Minnesota by score of 23-17. Maybe the 49ers needs to remove the Minnesota Vikings from their road schedule because it has been since 1992 that the 49ers won at Minnesota. The Vikings are 2-0 where Quarterback Sam Darnold looks like he has turned the corner to resurrect his career after being with the Jets, Panthers and the 49ers. Darnold has threw at least 2 touchdown passes the first 2 weeks of the season against the Giants and the 49ers respectively.

How about the Baltimore Ravens who are in unfamiliar territory being 0-2 after blowing a 23-13 lead in the 4th quarter to lose 26-23 as Quarterback Gardner Minshew and Wide Receiver Davonte Adams were in sync with Minshew throwing for 276 yards and 1 touchdown pass including Adams catching 9 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown catch. The New Orleans Saints went to Dallas and snapped the Cowboys 16 game home winning streak at home during the regular season winning by score of 44-19. Quarterback Derek Carr of the Saints threw 2 touchdown passes and Running Back Alvin Kamara ran for 3 touchdowns including catching a touchdown pass for 57 yards. Finally on Monday Night, the Atlanta Falcons pulled out a shocker at Philadelphia winning 22-21 where the Eagles could have sealed the game if Running Back Saquon Barkley had caught a pass from Quarterback Jalen Hurts but Barkley dropped the pass and Philly had to settle for a field goal:21-15. Then Quarterback Kirk Cousins of Atlanta led a touchdown drive that resulted in a touchdown pass to Wide Receiver Drake London from 7 yards: 22-21.

Now moving forward to the overview for Week 3 in the NFL, there are a plethora of games that are intriguing such as the battle of unbeatens type of games like the Los Angeles Chargers vs Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings vs Houston Texans, the Baltimore Ravens vs Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles vs the unbeaten New Orleans Saints.

My offensive player of the week for Week 2 is Running Back Alvin Kamara of New Orleans Saints:20 carries,115 yards,3 touchdowns including 2 catches for 65 yards and 1 touchdown catch. Opponent:Dallas Cowboys

My defensive player of the week for Week 2 is Defensive End Aiden Hutchinson of Detroit Lions:4.5 sacks, 4 tackles for loss and 5 tackles. Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
