The Week That Was | College Football Week 7 & 8 & NFL Week 6 & 7 Recap & Preview | MLB Playoffs Preview & Recap | NBA Season Preview

The ALCS/NLCS Recap begins with the New York Yankees vs Cleveland Guardians where the Yankees played Game 3 with a 2-0 lead against the Cleveland Guardians where the Yankees came through in the clutch with a game tying home run by Aaron Judge to tie the game at 3-3 then next was Giancarlo Stanton hit a go ahead home run to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead in the top of the 8th inning. Then the Yankees added an insurance run to make it 5-3.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, the Cleveland Guardians didn't lay down and give up with the Yankees one out away from taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the ALCS, Jhonkensey Noel came to the plate and on a change up pitch from relief pitcher Luke Weaver hit a game tying home run to make it 5-5 after Lane Thomas hit a double. Overall in the bottom of the 11th inning, Cleveland won on a walk off game winning 2 run home run from David Fry to win Game 3 by score of 7-5. Now the ALCS is 2-1.

In the NLCS, the Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from a National League pennant against the New York Mets. The storyline in this series is the overall dominance of the lineup of Los Angeles Dodgers and the dominant pitching. In the 3 wins that the Dodgers accumulated, they have outscored the Mets by a combined score of 27-2: 9-0,8-0,10-2.

The series is 3-1 in favor of The Dodgers maybe the Mets is running out of gas obviously their calling card and trademark has been their resiliency and how they bounce back and win the next ballgame in terms of overcoming deficits. There is a long way to go before a potential Dodgers/Yankees matchup in the World Series. Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers and Aaron Judge of The New York Yankees would be 2 of the biggest stars of the potential World Series. But only time will tell.

The NBA Season begins on October 22nd as the Boston Celtics begin the defense of the NBA title that they won a season ago. Overall the Eastern Conference maybe the more intriguing and tougher conference when you have the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks with the addition of Karl Anthony Towns, the Philadelphia 76ers who acquired Paul George who will form a possibility of a big three ensemble alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The Indiana Pacers with Tyrese Haliburton and company and Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis and Damian Lillard looking forward to advancing in the later rounds. In the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets should be the top team to come out of the West. With Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray and company; the Nuggets should be formidable. The question mark is the bench with the addition of Russell Westbrook including the departure of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, can Christian Braun excel in a starting role in the backcourt with Murray?

Yes, Oklahoma City and Minnesota could be dangerous again especially the Timberwolves but they will not have Anthony Towns on the roster so how will Donte Divincenzo and Julius Randle jell with Anthony Edwards. Shai Gilgeous Alexander leads a team that can possibly get to a NBA Finals so remains to be seen. The Dallas Mavericks acquired Klay Thompson which signals the end of the Golden State Warriors dynastic run as we knew them. Thompson has to prove whether he still has a lot left to coincide with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Overall, the Boston Celtics will play against the Denver Nuggets for the NBA title in 2025 and the Celtics will repeat as champions with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown at the peak of their prime will lead the march to a potential dynastic run of championship pedigree.
